Our Staff Team at ACME CARE Ltd

The Director and Senior Care Workers provide care to clients out in the community so they all have an insight into clients needs and difficulties that staff might come across.

For the remainder of their contracted hours they work in the office as Care Managers overseeing client care package, risk assessments and supervising staff, amongst other responsibilities. They also have varying roles within the office which are described here.

Edna Price - Retired October 2015 - Owner/Director of Acme Care Ltd

After raising her daughter on her own, Edna began her career within the care field in 1983, initially working with adults with learning disabilities. Over the following seventeen years, Edna worked with individuals with physical disabilities, sensory impairment and challenging behaviour in a wide range of settings, such as day centres, residential homes and sheltered workshops.

During this time Edna developed her vision regarding the delivery of high quality personal-centred care. Frustrated by the inflexibility and outdated thinking of her then employers, in 2001 Edna took the courageous step of establishing her own domiciliary care agency with the goal of providing a modern and dynamic service for the people of Coventry.

In time, Edna came to realise that there would be a great demand for the services that Acme Care could offer. Even her employees saw the benefits of the various services that Acme Care offer.

Edna has used her vast knowledge of the care sector in Coventry to ensure that Acme Care is always at the forefront of service delivery, and is able to predict and adapt to changing needs and times. This in-depth knowledge has also afforded her the luxury of being able to recruit fellow professionals whose individual strengths and skills compliment her own, and who also share her vision for care within Coventry.

Jo Ainsbury – Registered Manager/ Co Owner

Jo joined Acme Care in 2009 after being involved with the care sector for most of her life. During her formative years she began to understand the needs of people who live with disabilities and their families as her elder family members were working and involving her during their own development and understandings of their clients’ needs.

Jo has been in the care sector all her working life when she was at school she took on training to work with children and when she left school she joined a Coventry-based company providing support to the elderly. When she got married she moved with her husband abroad and started a family. While she was bringing up her children she worked around caring for her family by working with children. During this time she gained many qualifications in care and also gained knowledge of legislation's which then took her onto becoming a deputy manager of a pre-school group in Germany which was run by HM Forces. During this time she then became more involved with Acme Care and whenever she visited England to visit family she would join Acme Care on a Bank Workers basis.

Jo then felt that the time was right to return to England with her family so they would gain stability within their own home and friends. This was when she joined Acme Care on a permanent basis and studied for her Diploma Level 5 in Care and Care Management. Once achieving this she then studied to become the company's Health and Safety Appointed person.

Jo has brought a lot of energy to the company and has shown forward thinking and has helped to increase the efficiency of the Managerial side of the company. With Jo’s input we have high hopes for the future growth of Acme Care.
